Heroic Rescue of Russian Tourist Adrift Off Mui Ne Beach

Rạng sáng on January 26th, an inspiring event unfolded at Mui Ne beach in Binh Thuan province. Thanks to the coordination between border guards and local fishermen, a Russian tourist was rescued from a dangerous situation at sea.

Dangerous Situation at Night

On the evening of January 25th, Mr. Aleksandra (44 years old, Russian nationality), who was vacationing at the T’House hotel in Ham Tien ward, Phan Thiet city, decided to enjoy kite surfing. However, around 6 PM, unexpected strong winds caused him to lose control of his kite board, leading to a perilous situation. His kite board and him were blown far from shore.

When he did not return by evening, his friends became concerned and promptly informed the hotel staff and relevant authorities.

Determined Rescue Mission

Upon receiving the report, the Mui Ne Border Station deployed a rescue team consisting of two officers and four local fishermen aboard a fishing boat to search for Mr. Aleksandra. After several tense hours, around 1:30 AM on January 26th, the rescue team spotted him about 1.5 nautical miles offshore near Phu Hai, in a fatigued but conscious state. He was quickly brought onto the boat and safely returned to shore.

Humanitarian Support

After being rescued, Mr. Aleksandra’s health stabilized. The Mui Ne Border Station worked with the T’House hotel to visit and encourage him. The professionalism and dedication of the border guards, along with the enthusiasm of the local fishermen, contributed significantly to the successful outcome of this incident.

This courageous and timely action not only saved a life but also demonstrated the high sense of responsibility of Vietnamese law enforcement in ensuring the safety of international tourists.
