Preparations for the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has reported to the Prime Minister on preparations for the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025). The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security are collaborating with Ho Chi Minh City to finalize the parade plan.
Large-Scale Parade
The event will feature a military parade with 36 contingents of armed forces and police, directly managed by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. The parade, organized by Ho Chi Minh City, is projected to involve 12 contingents and approximately 13,000 participants, showcasing national unity.
Grand Grandstands and Modern Technology
The city has completed the design of the grandstands, with a total capacity of 5,260 seats for delegates. The grandstands are divided into distinct sections:
- Stand A: 1,068 seats
- Stand B: 1,832 seats
- Stand C: 2,360 seats
The parade area is equipped with essential facilities, including press areas, designated standing areas for units, two main power stations, a news data processing center, a press center, a medical zone with ambulances and fire trucks, portable restrooms, and a technical center.
Ho Chi Minh City will utilize advanced technologies, including LED displays, projection screens, virtual reality (VR), video art, and 3D, to enhance the event’s appeal and communication effectiveness. LED screens and loudspeakers will be strategically placed along main roads, enabling citizens to clearly follow the parade proceedings. Additionally, 22 large LED screens will be set up in various districts and Thu Duc City, providing further viewing opportunities.
Cultural Performances and Ceremonies
Beyond the parade, the program will include a 30-minute art performance by Ho Chi Minh City, featuring musical and martial arts displays. The flag-raising ceremony will involve a 21-gun salute. After the announcements and introductions, Party and State leaders will deliver speeches. Following this, representatives from veteran soldiers and young Vietnamese generations will give statements, and the song “The Land of Complete Joy” will be performed. The parade will follow, concluding with the release of balloons and doves.
Role of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has submitted its proposal for the celebration script to the Standing Committee of the Central Committee, the Central Propaganda and Education Department.
