Incident Details

At around 2:45 PM on January 20th, residents of Tinh Khe Commune, Quang Ngai City, were startled by a loud explosion coming from the home of student Đ.M.A. (17 years old, residing in Khe Hiep hamlet). Upon rushing to investigate, they found A. lying motionless behind the house, with severe injuries covering his body. Surrounding objects were heavily damaged, and the roof tiles were blown off due to the force of the explosion. Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, A. succumbed to his injuries before arriving at the medical facility.

Alarming Reality of Homemade Fireworks

In recent times, the issue of making and using homemade fireworks has become a serious concern in many areas of Vietnam. Easy-to-follow videos on how to create fireworks have spread widely on social media, attracting the curiosity of young people, especially students. After researching, many students secretly order chemicals online and clandestinely manufacture explosive devices, disregarding the potential dangers.

The reality is that the consequences of making and using homemade fireworks extend beyond property damage and directly threaten human lives. Several similar accidents have occurred, leaving heart-wrenching losses for families and society.

Solutions from Authorities

To address this issue, the police in Quang Ngai are intensifying awareness campaigns aimed at parents and students. This demonstrates the crucial role of families in protecting their children from dangerous activities.
