Huong Giang shared: “I believe it’s time to write history. My presence in this competition is to carry the hopes of a community, adding more meaning to the beauty and value of women. I also believe that true courage can change destiny.”

As of now, Huong Giang and 122 other contestants have completed more than half of the competition. The Vietnamese representative has been featured in most official voting rankings.
In two important categories, Beyond The Crown (Meaningful Social Project) and Most Beautiful People (Inspiring Beauty), Huong Giang currently holds a top position.
She has consistently been in the top 3 for the People’s Choice award (Most Loved Contestant). According to the rules, the winner of this category will secure a direct spot in the Top 30 finals. Voting is open until November 19.
This year’s competition runs from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand, bringing together 123 contestants from all over the world.

Huong Giang is the only transgender contestant and also among the oldest participants in the competition. However, this has not been a barrier, as she maintains stable performance, radiates positive energy, and earns points for her confidence and professionalism.
Since the beginning of the season, the Vietnamese beauty has consistently appeared polished and elegant, communicating naturally in front of the camera and demonstrating strong stage presence. Her positive attitude, avoiding controversy or gimmicks, has helped her gain favor with international audiences.
Beauty specialized pages such as Missosology and Sash Factor (Philippines) have highly praised Huong Giang’s performance, predicting her potential to reach the Top 15 finals. Sash Factor commented that she possesses “professional stage presence, good communication skills, and positive energy.”

Huong Giang was announced as Vietnam’s representative in September. According to the Miss Universe Vietnam Organization, she is a testament to the courage, resilience, and talent of modern Vietnamese women.
The decision to choose Huong Giang initially caused a major surprise, as she is the first transgender woman from Vietnam and also the first transgender contestant from Asia to participate in this pageant.
She once affirmed: “I am not taking away opportunities from any other woman. Together, we define the strength and success of women in all circumstances. This is no longer a competition just for beautiful girls; that era has passed.”
In interviews, Huong Giang often emphasizes messages of gender equality and breaking down prejudices. She believes that the presence of diverse women, from mothers and married women to transgender individuals, is a testament to the progress of the global beauty pageant.
“My presence does not diminish the identity of Miss Universe but is proof of the diversity the competition aims for,” she said.

The singer-turned-beauty queen also asserted that she is not participating in the competition to seek fame, but rather to show the world that “someone like her can also be elegant and beautiful,” thereby changing perceptions about the community.
“In 13 years of my career, no one has ever given me any opportunities. Everything I have is the result of continuous effort since I was 20. I don’t know where this journey will lead, but if I have the chance to make an impact, I will do it not only for myself but also for those who are placing their hopes in me,” she expressed before her departure.
Currently, Miss Universe 2025 contestants have left Phuket to continue their schedule in Pattaya, Thailand, preparing for activities leading up to the semifinals and the grand finale on November 21.
