On stage in Bangkok, Thailand, Huong Giang appeared gracefully embodying a Vietnamese schoolgirl, dressed in a white Ao Dai, a conical hat adorned with the Vietnamese flag, and a bicycle as a prop. She maintained a serene and pure demeanor, opting for minimal movement during her performance.
Sharing her decision, Huong Giang stated, “Throughout my school days, I always yearned to wear the white Ao Dai to school. The dream may come late, but it will arrive in the most beautiful way.”

She shared that the image of a schoolgirl carrying books to school was what she wanted to bring to the Miss Universe stage this year, as a tribute to youth and Vietnamese culture.
The Miss Universe homepage introduces Huong Giang as a renowned Vietnamese singer, model, and producer. After gaining recognition through Vietnam Idol and becoming Vietnam’s first Miss International Queen, she continues to pursue the goal of inspiring acceptance and a vision of equality for the LGBTQ+ community.
Hours before the segment, Huong Giang also entered the top 3 in the “Beyond The Crown” (Social Project) special award category, thanks to online voting. On the evening of November 19, Vietnam’s representative, along with other contestants, will proceed to the semi-final round. Subsequently, the beauties will participate in the final and most important segment, the grand finale (on November 21).
Miss Universe 2025 is taking place in Thailand from November 2 to November 21, featuring 123 contestants from around the world. This is a special season as the competition has expanded its eligibility criteria: accepting contestants who are married, have children, are transgender, and without age limitations. Huong Giang is the only transgender contestant this season.
