Strategic Cooperation Agreement

President of PSSI, Mr. Erick Thohir, shared that this agreement is not only focused on organizing friendly matches but also includes various other areas such as youth development, women’s football, and improving the national team’s quality. Mr. Thohir emphasized: “I am very pleased that Indonesian football can strengthen its cooperation with KNVB. This is an opportunity for us to learn and develop from one of the top football nations in the world.”

Valuable Opportunity to Compete Against Top Opponents

If the planned friendly match between the Indonesian and Dutch national teams takes place, it will be a valuable opportunity for Indonesian players to compete against high-level opponents. This is especially significant given that the Indonesian national team previously played a friendly match with Argentina in June 2023, losing 2-0 but drawing significant attention from fans.

Strong Relationship with Dutch Football

The relationship between PSSI and Dutch football is currently very positive. The current head coach of the Indonesian national team is Patrick Kluivert, a legend of Dutch football. Additionally, many players in the Indonesian team were born and raised in the Netherlands. This creates favorable conditions for establishing friendly matches between the two teams.

Future Prospects

The opportunity for the Indonesian national team to face the “orange storm” is not only a notable sporting event but also a strategic step in elevating Indonesian football. The cooperation agreement with KNVB promises long-term benefits, from youth player training to improving domestic competitions.

With continuous efforts from PSSI, Indonesian football is gradually asserting its position on the global football map. If the friendly match with the Dutch national team takes place, it will be a significant milestone in this journey.
