On the morning of February 13, the enlistment ceremony for the 2025 military service took place across Sóc Trăng Province. According to official statistics, 1,650 young people joined the national defense forces, while 275 enlisted in the public security sector. This year’s recruitment season has been particularly special, marked by numerous touching stories of voluntary enlistment to protect the nation.

Voluntary Spirit: Three Brothers Enlist Together

One of the most remarkable stories this recruitment season comes from Kế Sách District, where three triplet brothers—Lý Tiến Tấn, Lý Tiến Tài, and Lý Tiến Lộc (all born in 2005)—volunteered to serve in the military. From a young age, the brothers developed a deep admiration for soldiers of the People’s Army of Vietnam.

Sharing his thoughts on their decision, recruit Lý Tiến Tấn said, “We are thrilled to have our family’s full support. We will do our best to complete every assigned mission.”

Their mother, Trương Thanh Trúc, expressed immense pride: “Our family has always cherished revolutionary traditions. I hope my sons will carry these values forward and serve in the military for years to come.”

Continuing Family Legacy: Twin Brothers from Châu Thành

In the same recruitment drive, Phú Tâm Commune in Châu Thành District witnessed an inspiring story of twin brothers Nguyễn Quốc Huy and Nguyễn Quốc Hoàng. Both share a strong desire to uphold their ancestors’ legacy and contribute to building and protecting their homeland.

Notably, in Sóc Trăng City, Tạ Đình Trung Hậu—a recent university graduate in engineering technology from Cần Thơ University—has temporarily set aside his diploma to fulfill his military service. For Hậu, this is not only a duty but also an opportunity to develop personal resilience and contribute youthful energy to the nation.

Female Recruits: Strong Women Defending the Homeland

It’s not just male recruits; female enlistees also demonstrated strength and patriotism. In Bạc Liêu Province, over 1,200 new recruits officially joined the military, including two standout young women: Đỗ Như Ý and Nguyễn Thùy Trang.

Đỗ Như Ý (21), who recently graduated as a junior medical professional, voluntarily applied to join the military. Born into a family with a military father, she has long admired soldiers of the People’s Army of Vietnam. For her, the military environment offers both personal growth and a solid foundation for her future.

Nguyễn Thùy Trang (24), currently working at Bạc Liêu Military-Civil Hospital, decided to temporarily leave her job to pursue her dream of becoming a soldier. She shared, “My older brother once volunteered for the military, and now I want to contribute my part to the country.”

Conclusion

The 2025 recruitment season in the Mekong Delta provinces of Sóc Trăng and Bạc Liêu has highlighted emotional stories of patriotism and responsibility among the younger generation. From triplets proudly wearing military uniforms, twin brothers continuing their family traditions, to resilient female recruits, all demonstrate unity and determination to safeguard the nation.
