On April 14th, a launch from a West Texas (USA) rocket site marked the culmination of a spaceflight journey by Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin company, part of the New Shepard program.
Blue Origin’s website featured images of Lauren Sanchez and her fellow passengers, beaming with excitement during their time in the spacecraft.
Lauren Sanchez, known for her adventurous spirit and love of new experiences, had previously earned a pilot’s license and demonstrated an eagerness to explore aviation.

Upon the spacecraft’s return to Earth, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos personally greeted the crew. The 61-year-old billionaire was among the first Blue Origin team members at the landing site to welcome the returning passengers.
A video capturing Bezos’s clumsy stumble as he hurried to greet his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, quickly went viral on social media. He quickly recovered, and proceeded to embrace his soon-to-be wife.
Lauren Sanchez (56) and Jeff Bezos (61) became engaged in May 2023. The couple is slated to wed on a $500 million yacht in June.

During a live stream by Blue Origin on April 14th, Lauren Sanchez shared that Jeff Bezos returned from his own spaceflight with a more composed demeanor. He advised the all-female crew prior to liftoff.
Beyond Lauren Sanchez’s remarkable experience, the other crew members, all women, also expressed their enthusiasm and joy about their spaceflight.
Singer Katy Perry, upon landing, kissed the ground and declared, “This was the most amazing experience. It’s trusting the unknown, trusting the journey. I truly want to share this experience.” She revealed that she sang “What a Wonderful World” in the spacecraft.

CBS presenter Gayle King shared that she initially felt apprehensive but was filled with serenity and peace once in space.
American-Vietnamese human rights activist Amanda Nguyen added, “At this moment, I just want everyone to understand: Everyone can heal. There are no dreams too wild, and if they are too wild, go out there, fly to space, you can achieve everything.”
The 11-minute flight, carrying Lauren Sanchez (Bezos’s fiancée), singer Katy Perry, CBS host Gayle King, Vietnamese-American activist Amanda Nguyen, filmmaker Kieranne Flynn, and NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, took them beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
The crew experienced weightlessness for approximately three minutes. This mission aimed to inspire future generations and foster the growth of the space tourism industry. The flight held special significance as it featured an all-female crew.
