Kanye West revealed that his wife, Bianca Censori, suggested he seek medical advice.
“She said there was something about my personality that didn’t match bipolar disorder. She had previously encountered people with bipolar disorder. I listened to her and got re-evaluated, and I was diagnosed with autism,” the singer and fashion brand founder shared.
West says the diagnosis has helped him better understand some of his behaviors over the years.

“Autism makes you do things differently. You wear a Trump hat because you like Trump, and when others tell you not to, you still do it your way. That’s my issue. When fans tell me to make an album their way, I do it the opposite,” Kanye added.
In 2020, Kim Kardashian (West’s ex-wife) also acknowledged the challenges in managing the rapper’s mental health.
She shared: “Those who understand mental illness know families are powerless unless the individual is a minor. Those who don’t may judge and fail to understand how much help is needed.”
Kanye West himself had previously mentioned his bipolar disorder in his music. The superstar admitted feeling frequently out of control, which led to a breach of contract with Adidas.
Currently, West does not take medication for his mental health. He stated: “I haven’t taken any meds since realizing my bipolar diagnosis was incorrect. I’m looking for things that don’t hinder creativity, clearly what I bring to the world.”
These revelations came shortly after West and his wife’s controversial appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

On the red carpet, West’s wife shocked many by removing her coat to reveal a sheer outfit. Publications like Hollywood Reporter, Us Weekly, and People ranked this moment among the worst at the awards show. Many criticized her actions as inappropriate and degrading.
After the appearance, both left the event, sparking rumors they were asked to leave despite Kanye being a nominee. Grammy producer Raj Kapoor denied this claim to People on February 4.

Kanye also thanked Vogue for praising his wife’s outfit. In a February 4 article, Vogue writer Raven Smith praised Bianca Censori’s dress as a statement that women can wear whatever they choose. “Don’t rush to judgment just because we’re uncomfortable seeing her,” Raven wrote.
Bianca’s actions drew attention to her family. Her mother, living in Australia, recently spoke out: “We’re just ordinary people living our lives privately. I have nothing to comment on regarding Bianca, thank you.”
The mother expressed disappointment and concern about her daughter being influenced by her husband, often dressing provocatively and receiving unfavorable comments.
