“Many are surprised when I married a wife 29 years my junior”
Born in 1964, Lê Huỳnh is a veteran comedian who made his mark with numerous popular skits such as Bói quẻ đầu năm (New Year’s Fortune Telling), Ngày họp mặt (Reunion Day), Tây Thi (Xi Shi). During his peak, Lê Huỳnh had many overseas shows and was financially prosperous.
After his first marriage ended, Lê Huỳnh faced economic difficulties and lived a more private life. In 2015, he married actress Mỹ Linh, who is 29 years his junior.

In recent years, Lê Huỳnh has often returned to Vietnam to work, act in films, and host. Recently, he made a comeback to the big screen in the horror film Cải mả (Exhumation Ritual) by director Thắng Vũ.
Sharing about his recent appearance on the big screen, Lê Huỳnh said that the role of a shaman in the film was very challenging. He spent time researching materials and real-life customs. His wife also advised the actor on costumes and hairstyles, helping him fully embody the character.
Lê Huỳnh said he is satisfied with his current stable and peaceful life. After 10 years of living together, Lê Huỳnh and Mỹ Linh have maintained their passionate love and are increasingly happy. He and his wife currently live in an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City.
“Many people were surprised and questioned my marriage to a wife 29 years my junior. Due to the age difference, we couldn’t avoid conflicts at first. But compared to when we first got married, my wife and I now understand each other better and are happier.
Ten years together, we learned to nurture our marriage through small daily actions, through care, mutual respect, and harmonizing our differences. Thanks to that, the age gap is not a big issue,” Lê Huỳnh shared with Dân trí reporters.

The actor revealed that besides her artistic activities, his wife also runs a nail salon. When his wife goes to work, Lê Huỳnh stays home to clean, cook, and do laundry. He doesn’t mind taking on housework and enjoys pampering and taking care of his young wife.
On weekends, Lê Huỳnh often takes his wife out for coffee and shopping. When they have time, the couple travels, enjoying a leisurely newlywed life.
“The biggest change for me after 10 years of marriage is that I’ve curbed my hot temper. In the past, if I disagreed with something, I would easily raise my voice. Now I know how to control my anger to preserve family happiness. If a husband is too patriarchal, marriage can easily break down,” Lê Huỳnh confided.
The actor added that a crucial factor in nurturing marriage is mutual trust. Lê Huỳnh believes that without trust, a couple both working in art could easily break up because this profession involves interacting with many people and often with co-stars of the opposite sex.

“My wife is very jealous. Whenever she gets jealous, I often laugh and tell her that they are just fans admiring me. I, on the other hand, never get jealous, even though my wife is beautiful and talented.
Every time my wife goes out, I often say: “You can go freely, but you must let me know where you’re going, and you shouldn’t be out past midnight; I’ll worry at home.” I care, but I’m not jealous. And if she comes home late from filming, she just needs to call and let me know so I can rest assured,” Lê Huỳnh recounted.
After nearly 10 years of marriage, Lê Huỳnh and his wife still do not have children together. He confided: “Both of us hope to have children to liven up the house, but we don’t put too much pressure on it. I told my wife, we’ll think about it later, just let everything happen naturally.”
Financial Stability, Changed Temperament Thanks to Meditation
Once a famous comedian who experienced many ups and downs, Lê Huỳnh shared that he no longer chases fame. At 61, he only wishes for the “Tổ nghề” (Patron Saint of the profession) to favor him, to continue contributing to art, and to receive new film projects.
Lê Huỳnh and Mỹ Linh both act and run a business, so their financial situation is relatively stable. He is content with his current life, doesn’t aspire to luxury, and is always conscious of saving for the future.

Crossing the 60-year mark, Lê Huỳnh surprises many with his fit appearance and toned physique.
He revealed his secret: “I walk, cycle, and play pickleball regularly. For a long time, I have also adopted the 16/8 intermittent fasting regimen, usually eating dinner at 6 PM and not eating again until noon the next day. I only eat two meals a day.”
Lê Huỳnh added that since he started practicing meditation, yoga, and proper breathing, he has improved many ailments such as joint pain and acid reflux, and his health is significantly better.
“Not only is my health better, but my temperament has also softened thanks to meditation and yoga. My element is Fire, so I used to be hot-tempered. Since learning meditation, I control mental stress, listen more, and know how to stay calm. Thanks to that, life is much lighter,” Lê Huỳnh shared.
Regarding his relationship with his child from his previous marriage, Lê Huỳnh revealed that he still communicates regularly with them. Whenever he visits the US, the actor invites his child to his home and personally cooks for them. Occasionally, he invites his child and ex-wife to eat at a restaurant, maintaining a peaceful and civilized atmosphere.
