MacBook Air M4 and iPad Air M3 Launched in Vietnam

Early March saw Apple launch the new MacBook Air M4, featuring the M4 processor, and a lineup of new iPads, including the A16 iPad and the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air M3 models. These devices are now available in the Vietnamese market, after a month of launch.

Retailers have quickly adjusted pricing after the launch. The standard 13-inch MacBook Air M4 with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD is available for VND 26.7 million, a 300,000 VND reduction. The 15-inch model starts at VND 32 million.

The 11-inch iPad Air M3 with 128GB storage is priced from VND 16.69 million, a VND 300,000 decrease from the initial price. The 13-inch model with 128GB storage is now available for VND 21.99 million, representing a VND 500,000 reduction.

Asia Direct Cable (ADC) Operational Launch

The 9,800km Asia Direct Cable (ADC), connecting seven countries and territories, including Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Japan, has commenced operations. In Vietnam, the cable lands in Quy Nhon. The total investment in the ADC project is US$290 million, a collaborative effort of nine major telecommunication conglomerates, including Viettel (Vietnam), SoftBank (Japan), Tata (India), Singtel (Singapore), China Telecommunications Corporation, China Telecom Global, China Unicom (China), National Telecom (Thailand), and PLDT (Philippines). Viettel is the sole Vietnamese company involved in the investment and owns the entire Vietnamese segment of the ADC cable.

TCL Launches 2025 QD-Mini LED TV Series

TCL’s 2025 QD-Mini LED TV series, including the C6K, C7K, and C8K Premium models, has entered the Vietnamese market. The TCL C6K boasts a high-end HVA panel for enhanced contrast and wider viewing angles. With 512 independent dimming zones, the C6K precisely controls light, minimizing backlight bleed.

The TCL C7K features 2,880 dimming zones, HDR brightness up to 3,000 nits, and a CrystGlow HVA panel for a 7,000:1 contrast ratio, improving black depth and image accuracy. The TCL C8K, the top-of-the-line QD-Mini LED model, boasts a slim ZeroBorder design, 5,000 nits brightness, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

iPhone 16e Drives Apple’s Global Smartphone Success

Global smartphone market experienced a 3% growth in the first quarter compared to the same period last year. Apple emerged as the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, capturing 19% of the global market. The success is primarily attributed to the remarkable growth of the newly launched iPhone 16e. The iPhone 16e is currently Apple’s most budget-friendly iPhone model and is designed to replace the iPhone SE.

Critical iOS 18.4.1 Update Addresses Security Vulnerabilities

Following the release of iOS 18.4 two weeks prior, Apple released iOS 18.4.1. The update addresses two critical security vulnerabilities that may have been exploited in a sophisticated targeted attack against specific individuals. The update primarily focuses on CoreAudio and Remote Participant Audio Control (RPAC) security fixes. The CoreAudio patch fixes a memory corruption issue, preventing malicious files from executing code when processed as audio streams. The RPAC patch addresses the CVE-2025-31201 vulnerability, allowing attackers to read and write data arbitrarily by bypassing Pointer Authentication.

The Deebot T80 Omni, a robot vacuum cleaner priced under VND 20 million, incorporates smart AI and a compact rolling mop design to exert concentrated pressure. The mop exerts up to 3,700Pa of force, a significant improvement over traditional two-pad or vibrating floor cleaning technologies.

Veo 2: AI Video Generation Tool from Google

Google’s Veo 2, an AI tool, allows users to create videos from text descriptions in various styles. Veo 2 is accessible to Gemini Advanced users for VND 489,000 per month. Veo 2 generates detailed, high-resolution videos using text-based instructions. However, video length is limited to 8 seconds with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
