In 2025, Minh Du—Vietnam’s talented young actor—celebrated Tet without being fully present with his family. To ensure his work commitments and prepare for major projects, he welcomed the new year on a plane and only returned to Vietnam early on Tet morning.
“Despite my efforts to secure the earliest flight possible to be home for Tet, I still missed this sacred moment,” Minh Du shared. “On the first day of Tet, when I arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, I quickly paid respects to my ancestors, wished my parents a happy Tet, and prepared for my performance.”

Sacrificing for Career and Family
The actor shared that he had informed his parents about his plans to work during Tet. Although they were disappointed, they understood and supported his decision.
“I constantly remind myself to work hard to ensure financial stability and provide a better life for my family,” Minh Du said. “Some might say it’s too much effort, but I believe this is the only way to balance caring for my family while pursuing my passion for art.”
After two days of performing at the Thê Gioi Tre stage, Minh Du flew to the US for a tour on the third day of Tet. He returned to Vietnam on the seventh day to continue performing throughout the holiday period. His busy schedule reflects both his dedication to work and his ambition to advance his career.
