On the morning of November 21, the Miss Universe 2025 finals took place, attracting the attention of millions of beauty fans worldwide.

Before the grand finale, many specialized pages had released their final predictions, with Huong Giang widely expected to make the Top 30 due to her inspiring story and positive performances over three weeks in Thailand.

However, when the MC announced the Top 30, the absence of Vietnam’s representative left many viewers disappointed.

Additionally, this year’s results saw many unexpected faces, such as the representatives from China and Palestine, alongside familiar strong contenders like Thailand, the Philippines, Venezuela, and Colombia. The absence of highly-regarded contestants from the start of the season, such as Ecuador, Argentina, and Australia, also surprised many viewers.

Immediately after the Top 30 list was posted, tens of thousands of comments appeared on the official Miss Universe homepage. Some suggested there were signs of “injustice” towards the Vietnamese representative, while others described this year’s results as “confusing.”

A few typical comments included: “No Vietnam? Very confusing. I’m a fan from Thailand”; “She deserved to go further. Sending a hug from the Philippines”; “I’m a Cambodian viewer and I believe Vietnam deserved to be in the Top 30″…

Amidst heightened emotions, many Vietnamese fans called on the community to remain calm, avoid attacking the competition or other contestants, and refrain from using negative language that could affect the nation’s image.

Despite not making the Top 30, Huong Giang’s journey was still considered inspiring as she became Vietnam’s first transgender beauty to compete in Miss Universe, advocating for the LGBTQ+ community (transgender, gay, and bisexual community).

Besides Huong Giang’s result, the announcement of the Most Popular Contestant award also sparked controversy when the winner was the representative from Paraguay. Many opinions suggested that the Philippines’ representative had received more votes.

Meanwhile, this year’s Top 5 also sparked debate among viewers. Many believed that the representatives from Thailand, the Philippines, Côte d’Ivoire, and Venezuela deserved to win, but the crown ultimately went to Mexico’s representative, Fátima Bosch.

The Miss Universe 2025 competition took place from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand. The final night was notably missing Jamaica’s representative, who had an accident, falling off the stage during the semi-finals on November 19 and was forced to withdraw.
