“When I called, she said she didn’t want to go back to school and wanted to work and earn money. She also mentioned that the young man claimed to love her and would not harm her. However, I disagreed because she is still young, and we fear she might be tricked and sold abroad,” Ms. X. shared.
Ms. X. also stated that the family does not yet have the exact address of their daughter to pick her up. The family has asked the restaurant owner in Can Tho to inform the police for assistance in bringing the girl home.
Previously, as reported, on February 3, the Police Station of Chieng An (Son La City, Son La Province) issued a notice to search for Q.H.G., who had gone missing with a young man since February 2 and had not returned.
According to information provided by Ms. Ca T.X., the young man’s name is Nguyen Trung Thanh, 18 years old, from Lam Dong.
On the 29th of Tet, the girl brought this young man home, asking her parents to allow him to stay for Tet. He was supposed to return to his hometown by April.
“I refused and told the young man that he could only stay through Tet and then go back home, as my daughter is still in her school years,” Ms. X. said.
Ms. X. also mentioned that on the fourth day of Tet, the young man left but returned on the fifth day to retrieve forgotten clothing. After that, both the girl and the young man disappeared.
