On October 22, Ta Yu Hsin was found motionless in the bathtub of a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Initial forensic reports found no external injuries, and the preliminary cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest.

However, on November 5, Malaysian police announced that the case had been upgraded to a murder investigation, following the discovery of suspicious details in supplementary findings. Authorities stated there were no signs of sexual assault, ruling out rape.

On November 6, representatives of Ta Yu Hsin’s family arrived in Malaysia to arrange the funeral for the model. According to her manager, the family hired bodyguards and kept the entire funeral process confidential, including the location and time.

Explaining why Ta Yu Hsin’s parents did not travel directly to Malaysia, the manager stated that they are elderly and in poor health, unable to undertake long-distance travel.

On November 6, in a tearful statement to the media, Ta Yu Hsin’s manager said: “She passed away too young, with many unfinished plans. Yu Hsin once dreamed of having her own family and living with a kind partner.”

Police stated that the case has many unusual aspects and requires more time for investigation. At the time of the incident, the person sharing the room with Ta Yu Hsin was Malaysian-Chinese singer and director Namewee (real name Wee Meng Chee, born in 1983).

At the scene, authorities seized 9 blue pills suspected to be illicit substances. Namewee was detained for two days and indicted on October 24 on charges of possession and use of prohibited substances, but was later released on bail.

On November 5, Namewee was reportedly “missing” temporarily, but later that evening, the singer reported to the police station and is currently detained for further investigation.

According to authorities, autopsy results are expected to take approximately three months to complete. The case file is slated to be transferred to court on December 18 for legal proceedings.

Ta Yu Hsin was formerly a nurse before transitioning to become a model and content creator. Taiwanese media dubbed her the “nursing goddess” due to her alluring, confident style and positive lifestyle.

On social media, Yu Hsin had over 530,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly shared videos about her work, travels, and daily life.

Meanwhile, Namewee is a renowned Malaysian-Chinese rapper, singer, and director. He has sparked numerous controversies due to his music containing sensitive content and has been arrested previously for violating local laws.
