On February 12th in the afternoon, the 10th term Hau Giang Provincial People’s Council for the 2021-2026 tenure held its 24th specialized session to introduce and elect officials for the positions of Chair of the People’s Council, Chair, and Vice Chair of the People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure.
Specifically, the session removed Mr. Tran Van Huyen from his position as Chair of the People’s Council of Hau Giang Province and then proposed him for the position of Chair of the People’s Committee of Hau Giang Province for the 2021-2026 tenure.
Mr. Huyen received 45 out of 47 votes, representing over 95% support.
Mr. Huyen, born in 1971, is from Yen Phong Commune, Yen Mo District, Ninh Binh Province. He holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies.
Previously, Mr. Huyen held various positions including Secretary of the Youth Union; Deputy Secretary of Long My District Party Committee; Director of the Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Department; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chair of the 10th term Hau Giang Provincial People’s Council for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Prior to this, Mr. Dong Van Thanh, the previous Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee, was elected as Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.
At this session, Mr. Dong Van Thanh was also elected as Chair of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Council.
The Hau Giang Provincial People’s Council also introduced and elected Mr. Tran Chi Hung, Secretary of Long My District Party Committee, to the position of Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure. He received 45 out of 47 votes in favor.
Mr. Tran Chi Hung, aged 51, is from My Ngan Town, Chau Thanh A District, Hau Giang Province.

Mr. Hung holds a degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to being elected as Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure, he served as Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Secretary of Long My District Party Committee.
The session also removed Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen from his position as Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee. Previously, Mr. Tuyen was transferred and appointed as Deputy Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee by the Central Party Secretariat.
