Several children suffered serious burns in a bakery fire on Nguyễn Thái Học Street in Ho Chi Minh City on February 24th. Tragically, multiple children were injured, some requiring immediate hospitalization.

Several Children Hospitalized with Severe Burns

Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital (Nhi đồng 1) received three children with severe burn injuries. One child, a girl named Đ.N.Y. (born 2012), suffered moderate burns covering 12% of her body and respiratory tract. She is currently intubated. Another child, P.D.H. (born 2009), experienced third-fourth degree burns to the airway, accompanied by pneumonia. Currently, P.D.H. is receiving intensive care and high-level respiratory support. The third child, Đ.T.P. (born 2016), had minor burns to the legs and arms (first-second degree burns covering less than 20% of his body) and is receiving outpatient treatment.

Chợ Rẫy Hospital Also Receives Victims

Chợ Rẫy Hospital also treated four victims of the fire. One of the patients sustained critical injuries and requires a ventilator, while another child needs spinal surgery. Doctors are closely monitoring the condition of all patients.

Investigation into Cause of Fire

The fire broke out early in the morning on February 24th at a bakery on Nguyễn Thái Học Street. Approximately eight people were trapped inside and rescued by authorities. All victims were transported to nearby hospitals for prompt treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
