My First Visit to Uncle Ho’s Hometown

Vợ bỏ đi, chồng tưởng bị lừa ra nước ngoài nên báo công an

The five-day 30/4-1/5 holiday saw many people and tourists choose the Kim Liên National Special Relic Site (Nam Đàn District, Nghệ An Province) as a destination to pay tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh, the founder and leader of our Party in achieving peace, independence, freedom, and national unity, culminating in the historic Hồ Chí Minh Campaign.

According to statistics from the Kim Liên National Special Relic Site Management Board, on April 30th, the first day of the holiday, the site welcomed over 1,400 groups with over 28,000 visitors, exceeding the previous year’s first day figures (394 groups, 6,788 visitors).

Among the visitors to Uncle Ho’s hometown were tourists from mountainous provinces in the North and South. Some had been to the site multiple times, while others were visiting for the first time.

The five-day holiday brought Ms. Lò Thị Hảo (born 1980) and her group of Mường Chù District officials from Sơn La Province to visit the birthplace of President Hồ Chí Minh.

“This is my first time visiting the homeland of President Hồ Chí Minh. In the nationwide atmosphere commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, standing in front of Uncle Ho’s humble home, I feel a profound sense of connection, emotion, and gratitude,” shared Ms. Hảo.

Locals respectfully offered incense and flowers to President Hồ Chí Minh and his family members at the ancestral altar in the home of Nguyễn Sinh Sắc (Uncle Ho’s father) at Làng Sen Village.

Visitors captured photos of the house where Uncle Hồ spent his childhood.

Nguyễn Lại Huyền My (born 2006, Phủ Lý City, Hà Nam Province), a university student in Hanoi, and her friends embarked on a tour to explore Nghệ An province during the holiday.

“Visiting Nghệ An, it’s impossible not to visit the Kim Liên National Special Relic Site, the beloved birthplace of President Hồ Chí Minh.

I was truly moved by the simple, humble, and familiar thatched-roof house nestled beneath the trees and banana trees. It made me more aware of the responsibility young people have to live, study, and work worthy of the contributions and sacrifices made by President Hồ Chí Minh and the heroes and martyrs who gave us this peaceful life today,” shared Ms. Huyền My.

The “50 Years of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (1975-2025)” exhibition, featuring 238 photos, documents, and slogans, attracted many visitors to the Kim Liên National Special Relic Site.

The exhibition covers three themes: Building the North, fighting for the liberation of the South (1954-1969); Liberating the South, unifying the nation (1969-1975); Building and defending the socialist homeland, carrying out the renovation process (1975 to present).
