On February 3rd, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn held a New Year’s meeting with central specialized National Assembly deputies, along with staff members of the National Assembly Office. The meeting aimed to review achievements and set directions for activities in 2025.
At the meeting, General Secretary of the National Assembly, Lê Quang Tùng, reported on the activities of National Assembly agencies and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. Mr. Tùng stated that these agencies had actively implemented the 2025 work programs and plans, ensuring adherence to schedules. Additionally, the Tet holiday duty roster was strictly followed to handle any emergent tasks.
During the Tet holiday, National Assembly agencies continued to gather opinions from the Government, National Assembly delegations, and studied proposals to refine and perfect draft laws and resolutions. They also received and reviewed draft resolutions submitted by the Government to prepare for the first working days of the new year.
The National Assembly Office focused intensively on preparing for the 42nd session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly. Notably, the office requested the Central Committee’s approval to organize the session and sent out summonses before the Tet break.
According to General Secretary Lê Quang Tùng, 2025 is a year with a heavy workload, especially as the country implements reforms to streamline the machinery, develop science and technology, foster innovation, and drive digital transformation. Mr. Tùng emphasized the need for concentrated efforts to successfully organize crucial sessions.
Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn praised the efforts of specialized National Assembly deputies, staff members, and employees of the National Assembly Office in preparing for the 9th extraordinary session. He urged everyone to double their achievements from 2024.
Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn underscored the importance of unity and joint efforts to effectively implement the streamlining of the machinery according to Resolution 18 of the Central Committee. He also encouraged all staff to overcome challenges and fulfill assigned targets and tasks.
2025 is seen as a year of many challenges but also full of opportunities. With the unity and efforts of all staff, the National Assembly and related agencies will continue to achieve significant accomplishments, contributing to the nation’s overall development.
