Sharing with Dân trí reporters, Phi Thanh Van revealed that she and businessman Tran Chi Phu have been in love for nearly two years. They were friends for one year before deciding to commit to a closer relationship.

“We have both been through many ups and downs in our personal lives, so we choose to cherish our happiness discreetly, without fanfare. Our love is not about possession but about sharing, companionship, and empathy,” the actress said.
Phi Thanh Van also shared that her boyfriend is gentle, sophisticated, and always understands her psychology. She is happy that he understands her through every glance. He also knows when to be silent and when to encourage her.
She stated that her boyfriend is always a silent collaborator, advising, connecting, and sharing experiences, never trying to take credit or demand fame. He simply stands behind her, saying, “You go ahead, I’ll take care of the rest.”
The actress also confided that when in love, she is serious, sincere, and clear in her emotions. Her love is not boisterous but responsible. When together, she and her partner always have certain rules, such as always respecting personal space, being honest, and listening to each other.
According to Phi Thanh Van, Mr. Chi Phu also treats Tan Duc, her son from a previous relationship, very well. He doesn’t try to prove anything but approaches the child with sincerity, teaching him patience in solving math problems, and teaching him chess not for winning or losing, but for strategic thinking and respecting opponents.
“He respects feelings, educates civilly, doesn’t force the child to obey but teaches him to understand the value of discipline, kindness, and love. Tan Duc also likes him, trusts him, and accepts him as a warm father figure, no different from a biological parent,” she shared.
When a reporter asked, “There are rumors that Phi Thanh Van is dating businessman Chi Phu because he is wealthy, how do you respond?”
The actress replied: “I respectfully decline to comment on speculative information about my private life. Recently, I have focused entirely on my artistic work, film production, and cultural-social activities. What I am doing and have done is the clearest answer. I believe that those who understand me don’t need too much explanation…”
Speaking about wedding plans, Phi Thanh Van said that currently she and her boyfriend are busy with several projects, such as completing 79 episodes of the series Tham vong thuong luu (Ambition of the Elite), producing a beauty pageant, and some community work, so the wedding will be postponed until 2026.
“If we do get married, I hope it will be a warm, simple wedding, for family and those who truly love us, rather than a showy event,” she expressed.

The actress added that as an artist, she is very sensitive and often feels sad. However, that is also how she deeply perceives life.

Phi Thanh Van was born in 1982 in Hanoi. She began her career as a model, known for TV series such as Co gai xau xi (Ugly Girl), Nhung thien than ao trang (White-Shirted Angels)… and feature films Co dau dai chien (Battle of the Brides), Long Ruoi (Dragonfly), Trung so (Winning the Lottery)… Phi Thanh Van has gone through two divorces and has a son named Tan Duc, who is 9 years old this year.
Currently, Phi Thanh Van is active in both art and business. She invests in film production and television programs. In 2024, Phi Thanh Van produced the film Tham vong thuong luu and the TV show Nghe si nhi da tai (Talented Young Artists). The actress holds the position of director of the Southern Center for Culture, Arts, and Media, and was previously appointed Deputy Director of the Institute of Culture, Traditional Brands, and Human Resource Development, under the Vietnam Handicraft Villages Association.
