On February 9th, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính chaired a working session with the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.
During the session, Quang Ngai’s leadership reported to the Prime Minister on the socio-economic situation in 2024, outlined the direction and tasks for 2025, and presented some local recommendations and proposals.

According to Quang Ngai’s report, most of the 25 main socio-economic targets for 2024 were met or exceeded. The province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to reach over VND 132.581 trillion, ranking 24th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
For 2025, Quang Ngai aims to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 10.3%.
At the meeting, Quang Ngai proposed six issues related to energy, infrastructure investment, and challenges with residential, urban, and commercial service projects to the Prime Minister.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính largely agreed with Quang Ngai’s proposed direction and tasks for 2025.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Quang Ngai must continue to implement the resolutions of the 13th Party Congress and Resolution 26 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coast regions.
In carrying out these tasks, Quang Ngai needs to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, unity, and consistency based on the principles and regulations of the Party and State, as well as the responsibilities and duties of each agency and individual.
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính clearly outlined eight key tasks and solutions that Quang Ngai should focus on in the near future.
Among them, the Prime Minister requested Quang Ngai to streamline its organizational structure effectively in line with Resolution No. 18.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of building the Party and the political system, enhancing the leadership capacity and combativeness of Party organizations and members. He emphasized that grassroots levels must be close to the people and care about their livelihoods.
Another important task is to complete the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses across the province. Additionally, Quang Ngai should focus on developing social housing.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister asked Quang Ngai to accelerate the implementation of Project 06; develop growth scenarios to aim for the highest possible GRDP growth target; intensify efforts on the three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure, and human resources; prioritize national defense and security; and review delayed projects to report to the Prime Minister.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính also provided comments on some of Quang Ngai’s proposals and requests.
He instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide and resolve overlaps between mineral extraction and forestry plans. If beyond their authority, relevant units should report to the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also tasked agencies and units to urgently implement and construct the Da Nang – Quang Ngai expressway interchange connecting to the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
Regarding the proposal for building Ly Son Airport, the Prime Minister advised Quang Ngai to carefully study it. If beneficial, it should be implemented through public-private partnerships, while coordinating with the Ministry of Defense for dual-use airport development.
