According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a widespread heatwave has affected northern Vietnam since April 19th. Western regions are experiencing particularly intense heat.

This evening and night of April 19th, scattered thunderstorms and showers are possible in these areas. While rainfall is not expected to be heavy, residents should be prepared for possible hail, lightning, strong winds, and gusts associated with these storms.

In the next 24 to 48 hours, from Thanh Hóa to Phú Yên, expect scorching heat during the day, with some areas experiencing extreme heat exceeding 37°C. Evening and night thunderstorms and showers should also be anticipated.

The central highlands (Tây Nguyên) and southern Vietnam (Nam Bộ) will experience sunny days with possible heat waves in some regions. In the evenings and nights, scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated.

Forecasting for April 19th to 27th, the meteorological agency anticipates an expansion of the heatwave to encompass all of northern Vietnam between April 21st and 22nd. From the night of April 22nd to 25th, scattered showers and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rainfall, are anticipated in the north after a brief period of weak cold air. Most of this rainfall will likely occur during the evening and night.

Thanh Hóa to Phú Yên will continue to experience extreme heat, with some areas seeing scorching conditions between April 20th and 22nd. From the evening of April 22nd to the 23rd, scattered showers and thunderstorms, possibly including heavy rain in isolated areas, are forecast, with a slight temperature drop.

The central highlands and southern Vietnam will continue to see sunshine, with some regions experiencing heatwaves. Notably, Nam Bộ has been experiencing widespread heat since April 20th.

Hanoi 10-Day Weather Forecast:

From April 19th to 22nd, Hanoi will be mostly cloudy, with no rain. Expect hot days, with maximum temperatures reaching 36°C, and cooler nights and mornings with temperatures dropping to 25-26°C.

On April 23rd, a significant temperature drop of around 7°C is forecast following a weak cold front. The maximum temperature will be 29°C and the minimum 24°C, with cloudy skies and thunderstorms.

On April 24th, Hanoi’s maximum temperature will rise slightly to 30°C and the minimum to 23°C, with cloudy skies and scattered showers.

Between April 25th and 26th, the maximum temperature in the capital will fluctuate around 28-29°C and the minimum will generally be 22°C. Rain is expected, with possible thunderstorms.

On April 27th, Hanoi’s daily temperatures will range between 23-30°C, with some areas experiencing showers.
