Three South Korean assistants, including language assistant Lee Seong Joo and therapists Choi Sung Rak and Yoo Seung Min, have officially left the Vietnamese national team after supporting Coach Kim Sang Sik for some time. These outstanding students seized their break to gain valuable experience in an international football environment.
These young assistants made significant contributions to supporting the Vietnamese national team.
Three Outstanding Faces from Korea
All three assistants are top students from prestigious universities in Korea. They were selected for their combination of expertise and personal capabilities. Sports reporter Jo Sung Ryong of Sport-G commented, “They are unsung heroes who played a crucial role in the smooth operation of the Vietnamese national team.”
Lee Seong Joo, the language assistant, worked in Vietnam for half a year. He previously participated in player scouting in Korea before getting this opportunity. “At first, I didn’t think I would get the job as I was just a student. But this experience is truly irreplaceable,” Lee Seong Joo shared.
Lee Seong Joo acted as an important communication bridge between the coach and the players.
Choi Sung Rak and Yoo Seung Min, the therapy assistants, were introduced by Professor Lee Seung Jae of Mokpo University. They eagerly seized the opportunity to come to Vietnam. Choi Sung Rak expressed, “This is an excellent chance to develop myself. I want to learn more from a professional football environment.”
Yoo Seung Min, despite initial difficulties due to language barriers, quickly adapted. He said, “I had to observe the players’ expressions to understand them. Gradually, we learned how to communicate with each other. The players even tried speaking Korean, and we also picked up some Vietnamese.”
Memorable Moments
Their time in Vietnam not only provided professional experience but also built close relationships with the players. “The players wanted us to stay, but it wasn’t possible as we needed to return to complete our studies,” Yoo Seung Min shared with regret.
Coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnamese national team highly valued the contributions of these three assistants. They not only supported the team professionally but also fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie.
A New Transition
Although the three assistants have returned to Korea, Coach Kim Sang Sik has promptly added new staff. Another language assistant arrived in Vietnam before Tet to take over Lee Seong Joo’s position, ensuring that coaching and communication within the team remain uninterrupted.
The departure of the three Korean assistants marks a new phase in the Vietnamese national team’s development journey. However, the memories and lessons they leave behind will continue to inspire the team in the future.
Conclusion
The three young assistants from Korea have left a lasting impression during their time with the Vietnamese national team. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and spirit of learning clearly demonstrate the importance of providing opportunities to the younger generation. We hope their story will inspire many young people passionate about football and eager to contribute to the development of national sports.
