Special Forces Brigade: Upholding the Tradition of “Exceptional Vigor” in the New Era

The Special Forces Brigade, a key unit of the Vietnam People’s Army, has been recognized and commended by President Luong Cuong for its outstanding achievements over the past year. The head of state emphasized the brigade’s crucial role in national security and development during this new phase.

Notable Achievements of the Special Forces Brigade in the Past Year

According to Major General Hoang Minh Son, Commander of the Special Forces Brigade, the unit has excelled in building its forces, combat training, and ensuring technical equipment for the entire army. These efforts not only demonstrate professionalism but also affirm the spirit of unity and innovation among officers and soldiers.

President Luong Cuong highly valued the contributions of the Special Forces Brigade, particularly in earnestly implementing resolutions and directives from higher authorities. He highlighted that the force has built a politically strong team, meeting increasingly high demands in the current context.

Key Tasks for 2025

2025 is identified as a critical period with many significant political events. Therefore, the President requested the Party Committee and Command of the Special Forces Brigade to focus on the following tasks:

1. Building a Strong and Clean Party Organization

The President emphasized the importance of maintaining internal strength by focusing on building a clean and strong party organization, closely tied to the comprehensive development of the unit. This will provide a solid foundation for all military and defense activities.

2. Effectively Implementing the National Defense Strategy

The Special Forces Brigade is expected to continue effectively implementing Resolution No. 44-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Communist Party regarding the National Defense Strategy in the new context. This is a key task aimed at addressing non-traditional security challenges such as terrorism, violent uprisings, and peaceful evolution.

3. Collaborating with Other Forces

The President called for increased collaboration between the Special Forces Brigade and other forces, including Border Defense, Maritime Police, Public Security, and related agencies. Close cooperation will help address complex situations promptly and firmly safeguard national sovereignty.

Preparing for the Party Congresses

The President requested the Special Forces Brigade to prepare thoroughly for the Party Congresses at various levels, moving towards the 12th Party Congress of the Military and the 14th National Party Congress. Additionally, the unit should organize activities to commemorate important national and military holidays and events.

Special Attention to the Welfare of Officers and Soldiers

The President emphasized the importance of caring for the material and spiritual well-being of officers and soldiers. He requested that Tet be organized meticulously, safely, and economically while ensuring readiness for combat.

On the occasion of Tet, the President presented meaningful gifts to officers and soldiers. The delegation also paid respects and offered flowers to the martyrs and planted commemorative trees within the Special Forces Brigade premises.
