Every Tet holiday, the festive atmosphere spreads everywhere, from bustling streets to cozy homes. However, for patients in hospitals, feelings of loneliness and homesickness can be even more profound. Understanding this, Cho Ray Hospital has organized the “Spring Flower Path 2025” with the theme “Spring Connection – Tet of Three Regions,” bringing the essence of spring to every corner of the hospital grounds.
The Special Meaning of the Spring Flower Path
Dr. Bui Phu Quang, Member of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Hospital’s Trade Union, shared that this is the fifth consecutive year the hospital has hosted the Spring Flower Path within its premises. This event is not only a meaningful spiritual gift for patients and their families but also a way for healthcare staff to boost morale and help patients recover faster.
This year, the event ran from January 16 to February 4 (the 7th day of Tet), attracting participation from 76 departments with 73 unique displays. Beyond decoration, the flower path serves as an emotional bridge between patients, families, and medical staff, alleviating some of the stress during treatment.
Exciting Activities During Tet
The Spring Flower Path at Cho Ray Hospital is not just visually stunning but also rich in content. Alongside meticulously designed displays, the event features various entertaining activities such as calligraphy stalls, folk games, painting statues, and making traditional toys. The joyful laughter and radiant smiles have brightened the usually quiet hospital environment.
Mr. Tran Van Nang (89 years old), a patient at the hospital, excitedly shared: “The atmosphere at the Spring Flower Path this year is much livelier than last year. The flowers are fresh and beautifully arranged. I feel very uplifted!”
The Charity Booth – A Place to Share Love
A standout feature of this year’s program is the charity booth. Here, patients and family members can choose new clothes and take memorable photos in traditional attire like ao dai. These moments not only help them forget some of their pain but also create cherished memories.
Ms. Lan, a relative of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bon (69 years old, from Tien Giang), expressed: “I’m from the countryside, so this is my first time seeing a Spring Flower Path. The beautiful scenery makes me feel much calmer.”
Trust and Hope for the New Year
During this time, the Social Work Department at Cho Ray Hospital, in collaboration with donors, distributed 225 Tet gifts and lucky money to patients in difficult circumstances at the Chemotherapy Ward. Each small gift carries love and hope, providing strength to those fighting their illnesses.
When asked about her New Year’s wish, Ms. Huynh Thi Dong (from Ben Tre) emotionally said: “For ordinary people, they wish for many things in life. But for us, good health is the most precious.”
Spirit of Unity and Creativity
The Spring Flower Path event is not only a place for interaction and connection but also a testament to the spirit of unity and creativity among hospital staff. From displays mimicking lakes, rice baskets, and steamed rice cakes, each detail conveys messages of peace and happiness.
The group of interns led by Truong Tran Thuc Doan shared: “Even though we contributed a small part, we clearly saw that the spirit of unity and sharing is the most important factor in the medical environment.”
Conclusion
The Spring Flower Path 2025 at Cho Ray Hospital is not just a cultural event but also a symbol of compassion and hope. Through meaningful activities, the hospital has brought warmth and love to patients, their families, and the medical staff. Let’s share this story to spread positive values to the community!
