Supermodel Như Vân recently met with the press ahead of her participation in Miss Global 2024, sharing insights into her preparation and plans as she “takes her talents abroad.”

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Như Vân has drawn public attention for her personal life. She gave birth to her first child at 18 and became a single mother after her first marriage ended. In 2013, she remarried an American businessman who had three children from a previous relationship. In 2018, they welcomed another child together.
Despite being private about her life, Như Vân was once known for her happy family life with her Western husband and five children.
However, during a media interview on February 16, she unexpectedly revealed that she is currently a single mother. The model did not disclose details about her relationship with her ex-partner but confirmed they were never legally married.
Như Vân shared: “To be precise, I’ve never been officially married. Right now, I’m a single mother. In the past, I thought marriage registration wasn’t important—what mattered was how we lived together.”

When asked, “Is being a mother of two a disadvantage in this competition?” Như Vân responded: “Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. I’ve never compared myself to others but instead focus on recognizing my shortcomings to improve.
Being a single mother is personal, but I hope my story can inspire women to face life’s challenges with strength.”
Her children are a significant source of motivation for Như Vân on her journey to win the crown. She shared that her kids always follow her activities and offer advice.
Entering the international beauty pageant, she emphasized: “Women should never see age or marital status as barriers. Always fight for your dreams.”

The 1991-born beauty also expressed that there were times when she wanted to give up due to overwhelming difficulties. But through those dark days, she learned to become stronger.
When asked if competing at 33 might be a disadvantage, Như Vân explained that Miss Global has become more flexible with age limits, and she meets all the criteria. She asserted that in a beauty pageant, age isn’t the deciding factor—it’s about what contestants bring to the table.
“With thorough preparation and everything I’ve achieved, I aim to win Miss Global 2024,” she emphasized.
As a mentee of Hồ Ngọc Hà from The New Mentor 2023, Như Vân said that despite her mentor’s busy schedule, Hà always makes time to support and answer her questions.
“Sister Hà always replies to my messages quickly. Whenever I need help, she’s always ready to lend a hand,” she shared.
Model Nguyễn Đình Như Vân will represent Vietnam at Miss Global 2024, taking place from February 24 to March 9. According to the organizers, preliminary rounds will be held in Cambodia, while the semi-finals and finals will occur in Thailand.
Nguyễn Đình Như Vân (born 1991, Lâm Đồng) stands at 1.74m tall with measurements of 90-63-91. As a professional model, she has earned the trust of many renowned designers to close major fashion shows as the finale performer.
Before representing Vietnam at Miss Global 2024, Như Vân won the runner-up title at The New Mentor 2023 and served as a coach on The Next Gentleman 2024.
Miss Global, founded in 2013, accepts contestants aged 18 to 35. The pageant emphasizes female empowerment, celebrates diverse cultures, and highlights inner beauty.
Previously, Vietnam sent several representatives to compete, including Đoàn Hồng Trang, Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Duyên, Huỳnh Thị Yến Nhi, and Trần Ngọc Nguyên Khánh. Among them, Đoàn Thu Thủy holds the highest achievement for Vietnam, winning fourth runner-up in this competition.
