Surveys by Dân trí reporters at several retail chains show that during the early spring, many retailers are offering discounts on technology products along with attractive gifts. Meanwhile, consumers take advantage of these promotions hoping for good fortune in the new year.

Mr. Lê Quang Thắng from Daotan, Hanoi, shared: “On the God of Wealth day, I usually buy a tech gadget, hoping for more luck, prosperity, and wealth. Unlike others who buy gold, I choose items I find more useful.”

Mr. Thắng was surprised to learn about the lucky draw programs offered by stores, where customers can win gold.

Smartphones on sale

The iPhone 16 Series is discounted by 1-2 million VND, with the iPhone 16 Pro Max available for 32.79 million VND (originally 34.79 million VND). Some dealers offer it for as low as 32.45 million VND.

For lower-tier models in the iPhone line, there’s a discount of 2 million VND.

Meanwhile, Samsung devices receive even higher discounts, up to 6 million VND. For instance, the Samsung ZFold 6 is priced at 37.39 million VND (originally 43.99 million VND), and the ZFlip 6 at 21.39 million VND (a reduction of over 7 million VND).

Notably, the Samsung S25 series, though not yet officially released in Vietnam, is already being offered with discounts of up to 4 million VND by some dealers.

In the budget segment, discounts range from 500 thousand to 1 million VND.

Additionally, many tech accessories are being discounted by up to 70%, but the number of promotions is limited according to each dealer’s program.

Lucky Draw for Gold

In addition to direct discounts, some retail stores are offering lucky draws where customers can win 1 tael of gold for orders over 5 million VND (no limit on the number of orders). There are 120 taels of gold available as prizes.

Furthermore, Valentine’s Day (February 14) is approaching, and retailers are already launching special offers such as golden hour sales and significant discounts on tech products.

Retailers report a slight increase in the tech market this year compared to the same period last year.

Ms. Hoàng Minh Tâm, a representative from a retail chain, said: “Our observations show that the smartphone market in early February has maintained its momentum from the Tet period, with a slight growth compared to the first week of January.”

“The system is currently running golden hour sales, a ‘Super Love’ promotion for Valentine’s Day, and a new membership program allowing customers to enjoy discounts and earn points for future purchases,” she added.
