Serious Violations Committed

According to authorities, the group committed multiple serious violations, including:

  • Disobeying traffic control signals.
  • Riding motorbikes on highways – an area prohibited for non-eligible vehicles.
  • Not wearing helmets while riding.
  • Driving without licenses or vehicle registration.
  • Allowing unqualified individuals to operate their vehicles.

These violations not only endangered themselves but also posed significant risks to other road users on the expressway.

Discovery and Handling Process

The incident began on the afternoon of January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), when Traffic Patrol Team No. 4 received reports of a group riding motorbikes at high speeds, without helmets, removing license plates, and violating numerous laws on the Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) – Dien Chau (Nghe An) expressway.

At the Dien Cat interchange in Dien Chau district, the patrol team successfully stopped the group of teenagers. According to initial statements, they admitted to removing their license plates to avoid detection while visiting a temple in Dien Chau district for the Lunar New Year.

Notably, most of the individuals in the group were middle and high school students from Thanh Hoa province, who were either underage or otherwise unqualified to legally operate motor vehicles.

Notification to Families and Educational Institutions

After issuing penalties, authorities informed the families and educational institutions where the teenagers were studying about the incident. This measure aims to enhance parental and school responsibility in educating and managing children, particularly regarding compliance with traffic laws.

Lessons Learned from the Incident

This case serves as a wake-up call for families and society about the importance of instilling traffic law awareness in younger generations. Ignorance or disregard for legal regulations can lead to severe financial consequences and endanger lives and safety, both for the violators and the broader community.

Always remember that every traffic violation can result in unforeseen consequences. Therefore, each individual must take responsibility, especially when traveling on highways – areas that demand strict adherence to safety regulations.
