However, some opinions argue that the timing of this revelation was inappropriate. Many critics accused the Wang family of exploiting the actress’s death to gain public attention.

Subsequently, From Hy Viên’s family denied claims that Wang Xiaopi paid for the chartered flight. Representatives from the From family stated that the costs were entirely covered by her relatives. “They lie shamelessly and exploit the deceased, which is absolutely unacceptable,” said the family.
MC From Hy De (From Hy Viên’s younger sister) commented: “Why would there be news saying that Wang Xiaopi paid for the flight to bring my sister’s ashes home? I can’t understand it! It’s unbearable to see such manipulative tactics.”

His ex-girlfriend, model Zhang Jingjing, also criticized him for “acting too dramatically” and “showing off” following From Hy Viên’s death. Zhang Lan was also criticized for being disrespectful towards the deceased, as she appeared cheerful during her live streams when discussing her ex-daughter-in-law’s passing.
