Leading Thai sports daily Siam Sport reported: “We are shocked by the massive reward Nguyen Xuan Son has received. The player reaped sweet success after the AFF Cup.”

“Reports indicate that Xuan Son received $1.187 million (over 30 billion VND), including cash and valuable assets. Of this amount, a luxury apartment worth $1 million (approximately 25.47 billion VND) in Hanoi was gifted to Xuan Son by the chairman of Nam Dinh Football Club,” added Siam Sport.
With the total value of assets mentioned above, Nguyen Xuan Son is the highest-rewarded player in the Vietnam national team following their AFF Cup victory.
This is a well-deserved achievement for the player who won the top scorer title at last year’s ASEAN Football Championship. Xuan Son’s seven goals played a crucial role in securing Vietnam’s championship win.

Siam Sport detailed the rewards given to Xuan Son: “In addition to the luxury apartment mentioned above, Xuan Son also received two cars worth over 2 billion VND. Another sponsor awarded him an additional 500 million VND.”
“Furthermore, he is among those receiving the highest bonuses from the overall reward pool of over 40 billion VND distributed to the entire Vietnam national team. Being part of the ‘Category A’ bonus group, Xuan Son earned no less than 2 billion VND.”
“Not only that, the top scorer of the 2024 AFF Cup also received bonuses from the tournament’s organizing committee for being the highest goal scorer and best player of the tournament,” continued the report from Thailand’s top sports daily.
Xuan Son is currently recovering from an injury sustained during the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final on January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok (Thailand), where he broke his leg. It is expected that Xuan Son will need 6-8 months to recover before returning to the pitch.
