On January 21st, Traffic Police Unit No. 6 under the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police conducted inspections and violations processing at My Dinh Bus Station and on Pham Van Dong Street. This initiative aimed to enhance traffic safety during holidays and Tet.

Modern Technology in Violation Control

During this operation, law enforcement utilized advanced equipment to retrieve data from vehicle dash cameras. As a result, officers were able to detect various violations such as not wearing seat belts, picking up or dropping off passengers improperly, speeding, or lane invasions.

Upon detecting violations, the task force would stop the vehicle, print out the violation images, and issue a ticket on the spot. This method eliminates the possibility of driver denial and enhances transparency in the enforcement process.

Typical Violation Cases

One notable case involved driver N.V.H., aged 37, operating a bus on the My Dinh – Bac Giang route. Data extraction from the dash camera revealed that he did not wear a seatbelt while driving over Thang Long Bridge. After reviewing the violation footage, driver H. admitted his mistake due to negligence and paid the fine of VND 900,000.

Additionally, driver T.V.H., aged 35, operating a bus on the Hanoi – Bac Giang route, was also fined for leaving the door open while driving on Pham Hung Street. The dash camera provided clear evidence of this violation.

Significance of the Campaign

According to Captain Pham Van Chien, Head of Traffic Police Unit No. 6, the surprise checks both at bus stations and on roads are part of a strategy to tighten traffic safety discipline as directed by higher authorities.

“We require bus owners to provide access to their dash camera systems. From there, we extract violation images, inform the drivers, and issue fines. Not only do we enforce violations, but we also promote awareness to improve traffic law compliance among citizens, especially bus drivers,” Captain Chien emphasized.

Conclusion

Using dash cameras to monitor and penalize violations has proven effective in deterring irresponsible driving behaviors. This approach not only serves as a deterrent but also contributes to building a culture of safe and civilized transportation within the community.

To avoid penalties, drivers must strictly adhere to traffic laws, particularly regarding speed limits, wearing seatbelts, and keeping doors closed while driving. Let’s work together to create a safe and healthy traffic environment!
