Traffic Update on February 1st (4th Day of Tet)
On February 1st (the 4th day of Tet in the Year of the Rabbit), the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security announced traffic conditions for the day. Nationwide, there were 47 traffic accidents resulting in 21 deaths and 45 injuries. Compared to the same day last year during Tet in the Year of the Dragon, the number of accidents decreased by 21, the number of fatalities dropped by 6, and the number of injuries reduced by 20.

On the 4th day of Tet, nationwide traffic police forces inspected and penalized nearly 5,700 traffic violations. Specifically, 40 cars, nearly 2,600 motorcycles, and 38 other vehicles were impounded. Additionally, over 330 driver’s licenses were revoked, and more than 860 cases had points deducted from their licenses.

On National Highway 1A, traffic police conducted 154 shifts, monitored over 8,400 vehicles, identified and penalized 800 violations, revoked licenses in nearly 90 cases, and impounded over 270 vehicles.
Traffic Forecast for the Coming Days
The Traffic Police Department also provided forecasts indicating that from late afternoon on February 1st, traffic volume heading to Hanoi would increase significantly on key routes. To ensure traffic safety, Room 7 of the Traffic Police Department coordinated with Hanoi’s Traffic Police to monitor traffic flow and advise drivers to choose appropriate routes.
