Con ngõ nhỏ leading to Mr. Thai Ba Minh’s humble four-room house in Hamlet 3, Hoa Son Commune, Anh Son District, is now filled with sorrow. People attending the funeral cannot help but feel heartbroken seeing three innocent children dressed in mourning attire, standing silently beside their father’s coffin.

The tear-streaked faces and cries for their father move anyone to tears. “Mom is gone, why did Dad follow her? What will we do without you? Dad, come back to us,” sobbed Ms. Thai Thi Anh, Mr. Minh’s second daughter, between sobs.

The Difficult Circumstances of Victim Thai Ba Minh’s Family

Mr. Minh was the sole breadwinner after his wife, Mrs. Dang Thi Van, passed away in a tragic accident 11 years ago. At that time, his children were very young, with the youngest barely a year old. To support his family and care for his 80-year-old, frequently ill mother, he remarried with Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tho. However, due to financial difficulties, Mrs. Tho had to work in Taiwan, leaving the entire burden on Mr. Minh.

Mr. Minh worked as a laborer at Song Lam 2 Cement Company, struggling daily to provide for his family. But his sudden passing has plunged the entire family into despair.

The Pain of Losing a Father in Victim Nguyen Huu Nga’s Family

Not only Mr. Minh’s family, but also Mr. Nguyen Huu Nga’s home in Hamlet 5, Phuc Son Commune, Anh Son District, is shrouded in grief. Mr. Nga was the main breadwinner in a family where his wife suffers from cancer and two children are still in school. His untimely death not only leaves a huge void but also pushes the family into deeper hardship.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hao, Mr. Nga’s wife, was diagnosed with cancer three years ago. Life, already difficult, became even more desperate with the loss of their sole support. Neighbors are deeply saddened by the future of the two young children, Nguyen Thi May and Nguyen Huu Vo. “Now that Mr. Nga is gone, his wife is sick, and the children are so young. I wonder how the family will survive?” shared one neighbor.

The incident shocked the local community and garnered special attention from provincial authorities. Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghe An Province, demanded a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident and timely support for the families of the victims.
