On February 17, the leader of the Phu Khanh Railway Operation Branch reported that in the past month, there have been five incidents of stone-throwing at trains passing through Khanh Hoa Province (3 cases) and Ninh Thuan Province (2 cases).
The stone-throwing incidents typically occurred in the late afternoon or at night. So far, these incidents have only caused property damage, with no impact on the safety of workers or passengers.

The most recent incident occurred at 4:50 PM on February 16, when the SE9 train traveling from north to south was hit by stones while passing between Ga Gia and Hoa Huynh stations (Khanh Hoa Province), breaking a corridor window.
The leader of the Phu Khanh Railway Operation Branch confirmed that all five cases have been reported to local police for investigation and identification of the perpetrators.
In response to this situation, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has requested the provincial police department to direct local police forces to collaborate with authorities in areas along the railway to urgently investigate, identify violators, and take strict measures against them.
Districts, towns, and cities along the railway lines are also required to enhance public awareness campaigns to educate residents about railway traffic safety laws and regulations.
