Twin Boys Born on Vietnam Reunification Day

On May 1st, the Obstetrics Department of Vinh City General Hospital announced the birth of twin boys on April 30th, a special day commemorating 50 years of Vietnam’s reunification.

Doctors shared the newborns’ first moments under the red flag of Vietnam, a peaceful yet profound tribute to the nation. The images quickly spread across social media.

According to the Obstetrics Department, the mother, N.T.T. (born 1990, from Do Luong District, Nghe An Province), was admitted to the hospital beforehand and delivered the babies at 8:38 AM on April 30th, in the joyous atmosphere of the nation.

After a smooth labor, the two boys were born healthy, weighing 2.8kg and 2.5kg respectively.

My family decided to name the children Nguyễn Thống Nhất and Nguyễn Hòa Bình as a message of love. I hope they grow up healthy, live well, love their homeland, and value peace.”

Following the widespread sharing of the photos, many people left comments expressing congratulations and praising the meaningful names chosen by the family.
