The final quarter-final match of this year’s U17 Asian Cup was surprisingly close. U17 South Korea, despite being the higher-ranked team compared to U17 Tajikistan, faced a tough battle.

After a goalless first half, the second half of the match saw some exciting action. In the 67th minute, U17 South Korea took the lead thanks to Jeong Hyeon Ung.
Kim Ji Sung’s cross from the right wing found Jeong Hyeon Ung, who positioned himself well in front of the Tajikistan defense. Jeong Hyeon Ung then finished with a single touch, giving South Korea a 1-0 advantage.
However, Tajikistan struck back in the 83rd and 89th minutes, scoring two goals through Mukhammad Nazriev and Abdullo Ibragimzoda, respectively. These goals put Tajikistan back in the lead, 2-1.

It looked like Tajikistan would emerge victorious, but in the 9th minute of added time, South Korea scored an equalizer, making the score 2-2.
The goal for South Korea was scored by Kim Ji Sung, following a penalty awarded to South Korea. From the penalty spot, Kim Ji Sung successfully converted the penalty, drawing the game level.
The match ultimately went to a penalty shootout, where South Korea emerged victorious, winning 5-3 and securing their place in the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, South Korea will face Saudi Arabia, while Uzbekistan will play North Korea in the other semi-final match.
