However, due to the effects of Typhoon Kalmaegi (Typhoon No. 13) in the Cu Lao Cham sea area, which caused large waves, local vessels were not suitable for transporting the patient to the mainland for emergency care.

To ensure the patient’s safety in this emergency, the Commune People’s Committee requested the City Civil Defense Command and the City Border Guard Command to provide a specialized vessel for the patient’s transfer to the mainland.

According to information from the authorities, at 8:40 AM on the same day, the City Border Guard Command dispatched a vessel from Border Guard Squadron 2 Son Tra to Tan Hiep island commune to transport the patient to the mainland for emergency treatment.
