Praising Economic and Social Development Efforts in Bac Lieu

During her visit, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan commended Bac Lieu’s significant achievements despite limited resources compared to national standards. She emphasized that the province has effectively utilized its available resources to better support policy families and贫困户.

In particular, the poverty rate in Bac Lieu has dropped to just 0.69%, a commendable figure for a province in the Mekong Delta region. This reflects the local government’s dedication and high sense of responsibility in improving people’s livelihoods.

“We must see not only the numbers but also the positive changes in people’s lives. The new homes built and the timely Tet gifts all contribute to a warm and joyful Tet,” Vice President Xuan stated.

Deep Concern for Workers and Laborers

In addition to supporting policy families, Vice President Xuan expressed deep concern for the welfare of workers and laborers. She stressed that, alongside corporate responsibilities, the roles of local party committees and governments are crucial in ensuring social security.

“Workers need to be provided with conditions to welcome Tet peacefully, and they should have additional motivation to improve their income and quality of life in the future,” she affirmed.

Sustainable Development Directions for Bac Lieu

During her visit, Vice President Xuan offered important suggestions on Bac Lieu’s economic and social development strategy. She advised focusing on restructuring the economy towards more rational sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and services. Incorporating culture into production will help create a unique identity, attracting tourists and investors.

Moreover, she highlighted the importance of investing in social welfare areas like education, healthcare, and telecommunications. The goal is to provide locals with quality services at home, reducing the burden of traveling far for education or medical care.

Positive Results from the Temporary House Elimination Program

According to Bac Lieu Province People’s Committee Chairman Pham Van Thieu, the temporary house elimination program has achieved notable results. Out of over 1,800 temporary houses needing construction, approximately 700 have been completed and put into use before Tet. The remaining houses are expected to be finished by April 30th.

Meaningful Activities in Ca Mau

On the same day, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also visited and distributed Tet gifts to poor households and disadvantaged children in Ca Mau province. Notably, she spent time visiting and congratulating Mother Hero Tran Thi Khanh in Ca Mau City. These actions demonstrate the State leadership’s deep concern for all segments of society, especially those who have contributed to the nation.
