Professor, Doctor Trần Hậu Khang shared the importance of the book, emphasizing that rare skin diseases have been identified and treated in Vietnam since 1984, with over 20 types currently recognized. He noted that the book compiles information on nearly 50 rare skin diseases, incorporating theoretical knowledge, medical evidence, and clinical observations from Vietnamese and international practices. The book encapsulates the invaluable experience of Professor, Doctor Trần Hậu Khang after over 40 years of dedicated service.

Doctor Vũ Thái Hà, Head of the Stem Cell Research and Application Department, Vietnam Central Dermatology Hospital, discussed the challenges in diagnosing and treating rare skin diseases in Vietnam. Currently, nearly 100% of rare skin disease cases are misdiagnosed at other medical facilities before reaching specialized care. Rare skin diseases often have a high genetic component and currently lack effective treatment methods.
Doctor Hà emphasized the importance of raising awareness and achieving early diagnosis to minimize serious complications and improve patients’ quality of life.
