VTV and CMG announce a significant media partnership, commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China. This collaboration, spanning 2025-2026, focuses on key areas like technology, AI, cultural exchange, and key political milestones.
VTV and CMG unveiled a series of key media projects for the 2025-2026 period, emphasizing programs centered on technology, artificial intelligence, cultural exchange, artistic endeavors, and significant political milestones of both nations.
This marks a pivotal moment in Vietnam-China relations, offering a new avenue for strengthening friendship through cultural exchange, particularly via media cooperation.
The ceremony attracted the participation of leaders from various Vietnamese and Chinese government agencies, organizations, media outlets, as well as VTV and CMG leadership and staff. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính sent a congratulatory message to the leaders, staff, reporters, and editors of both VTV and CMG.
This event, part of the Vietnam-China Year of Cultural Exchange, serves as a launchpad for a series of key media cooperation projects.
The planned programs aim not only to showcase the achievements of both countries in political and economic spheres but also to highlight the rich and unique cultural values of each nation.
During 2025-2026, VTV and CMG’s media collaborations will primarily focus on cultural content, encompassing documentaries, special reports, and artistic exchange programs.
Documentaries, television programs, and special reports about history, landmarks, people, and innovation will be prioritized.
These programs will immerse audiences in a deeper exploration of traditional values, festivals, folk arts, and contemporary artistic achievements of both nations.
This initiative will foster understanding, empathy, and respect in the context of increasingly globalized cultural exchanges.
A notable highlight of this cooperation is the planned artistic exchange programs, bringing artists, musicians, and actors from both countries together for performances and sharing of creative works. These events serve as vital bridges for cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
To deepen understanding, particularly among younger generations, VTV and CMG will jointly produce the “Young Reporters Exchange Program.”
Alongside cultural programs, initiatives related to technology, AI, and urban infrastructure will be developed, but culture will remain the core of these projects.
Significant events, such as high-level state visits and important conferences, will be prominently covered, showcasing key political and diplomatic milestones between Vietnam and China.
Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Lâm, Director General of VTV, shared, “Through these specific cooperation projects, we hope to provide opportunities for Vietnamese and Chinese people to discover, appreciate, and celebrate each other’s unique cultural and traditional values. This will not only enhance understanding but also establish a solid foundation for a lasting friendship between our two nations.”
Mr. Thận Hải Hùng, Director General and Editor-in-Chief of CMG, expressed confidence that these strategic cooperation programs will continue to spread awareness, strengthen people-to-people connections, foster sustainable development, and make significant contributions to the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.
“These activities not only solidify the friendship between our two nations but also enhance cooperation in the digital media environment, meeting the information needs of audiences in the digital age,” said Mr. Thận Hải Hùng.
Mr. Lê Hải Bình, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, remarked, “The cooperation between VTV and CMG is not simply about collaborative content production, program exchange, and sharing of experience and technology, but also a deep cultural diplomacy effort. It diversifies perspectives, promotes national identities, cultural heritage, and distinct lifestyles of each country, furthering mutual understanding and collaboration in numerous fields.”
VTV and CMG are committed to further strengthening cooperation in digital media, creative content production, and sharing of digital ecosystem management experience, adapting to the global digital transformation trend.
This is a critical part of the long-term strategic partnership between the two stations, not only fostering cultural exchange but also enhancing cooperation in modern media.
Through these cooperative programs, VTV and CMG aim to contribute to the consolidation and sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China, particularly in a rapidly evolving and interconnected world.
