On the afternoon of February 10, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to transfer the General Department of Logistics to the General Department of Logistics – Engineering.
Speaking at the conference, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, praised the commanders of the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering for their leadership and guidance in ensuring excellent logistical and technical support for the military’s training, routine, and unscheduled missions.
According to General Phan Van Giang, the merger of the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering, reorganizing them into the General Department of Logistics – Engineering, is a major policy, marking the development, maturity, and growth of our military.

For the General Department of Logistics – Engineering to successfully complete all tasks in the coming period, the Minister requested that immediately after the handover, the Party Committee and command of the General Department of Logistics – Engineering focus on leadership and guidance to quickly stabilize its organization and staffing; consolidate party organizations, command structures, and assign specific duties.
General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the logistics and engineering sector is entrusted with receiving, producing, and managing a very large volume of materials, equipment, and assets by the Party, State, military, and people, for direct distribution and provision to troops for combat and daily life.
Therefore, every officer, employee, and soldier must preserve and uphold a pure revolutionary spirit and ethics, strictly abide by regulations and standards, and prevent any loss, corruption, or waste.
Previously, on January 24, the Minister of National Defense signed Decision No. 366 regarding the merger of the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering, reorganizing them into the General Department of Logistics – Engineering.
