Vietnam dispatched a 106-member rescue team to Myanmar on March 30th to assist with earthquake relief efforts. This team, comprising military and police personnel, is led by Lieutenant General Phạm Văn Tỵ and Colonel Nguyễn Minh Khương.
Alongside the rescue team deployment, Vietnam also pledged US$300,000 in aid to Myanmar to support recovery efforts. The rescue team will commence relief operations in affected areas starting tomorrow, and will also transport aid supplies to affected citizens.
This humanitarian aid demonstrates Vietnam’s commitment to international solidarity and the “treating others as you would yourself” philosophy. The action not only assists Myanmar in overcoming natural disaster consequences but also reinforces Vietnam’s reputation and capabilities as a rescue force within the international community. Previously, on March 28th, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn and the Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association sent messages of support to the people of Myanmar.
Vietnam’s Urgent Support for Myanmar Highlights:
- International Solidarity: Vietnam actively participates in providing assistance to other nations facing challenges.
- International Responsibility: Vietnam demonstrates its concern and responsibility for global humanitarian issues.
- Reputable and Capable Rescue Force: The Vietnamese rescue team’s presence showcases its ability to handle emergency situations.
Vietnam wishes for Myanmar to quickly overcome the earthquake’s aftermath and restore normalcy. This assistance not only holds humanitarian value but also strengthens the friendly relations between the two nations.
