Tet Nguyen Dan is not only a time for family reunions but also brings memorable moments for Vietnamese artists. Each artist has their unique way of welcoming the new year, from warm moments with family to busy schedules during the biggest holiday of the year.
Artist Minh Hoa: Welcoming the New Year at Home, Watching Fireworks from a High Floor
Sharing with Dan Tri, Artist Minh Hoa revealed that she was quite busy in the final days of the year, completing photo shoots for a brand until the 27th day of the lunar calendar. She finally had time to go shopping and prepare food for her family on the 28th day of Tet.

With a small family, Minh Hoa chose to buy ready-made Banh Chung instead of making them herself. Her Tet meal usually includes traditional dishes like bamboo shoot soup, meat rolls, fried spring rolls, and a special dish of fish spring rolls. She also decorates her home with peach blossoms and orange trees and prepares betel leaves and roses for the 29th night Tet offerings.
On New Year’s Eve, she stays home with her family rather than going out to watch fireworks. Living near My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi and on a high floor, she can easily enjoy the fireworks display from afar. The family enjoys tea and intimate conversations. On the first day of Tet, they visit Sung Phuc Pagoda in Gia Lam to pray for peace.
Reflecting on past Tet celebrations, Minh Hoa shared memories of performing with Artist Minh Vuong. Some years, they had to endure hunger because all shops were closed, finding only a single open bun shop on the second day of Tet. Or, when abroad, they were invited to celebrate Tet at the homes of fellow Vietnamese—memories that remain unforgettable in their careers.
Artist Le Giang: A Busy Tet Balancing Work and Family
Unlike Artist Minh Hoa, Artist Le Giang has a very busy Tet. On New Year’s Eve, she will celebrate with her children in Ho Chi Minh City. From the first day of Tet, she joins the cast of The Four Robbers to meet audiences in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Her son will fly to Australia on the third day of Tet to continue his studies, so she arranges for someone to take him. Despite being busy, she maintains traditions by decorating her home with various flowers and preparing favorite dishes like duck egg stewed pork and Chinese sausage.
Le Giang expresses her happiness at being loved by audiences and participating in popular films with Trấn Thành at over 50 years old. “I feel lucky that audiences recognize my natural acting. That makes me the happiest,” she shares.
SOOBIN: Early New Year’s Eve Dinner to Catch Performances
SOOBIN, the talented young singer, also has a unique Tet celebration. He returns to Hanoi to spend time with his family before diving into a busy performance schedule. On New Year’s Eve, SOOBIN will participate in a program in the capital, so he has an early family dinner.

After the New Year’s Eve celebrations, he sends greetings and lucky money to relatives. On the first day of Tet, SOOBIN visits his grandmother’s house to wish her well, then goes sightseeing with friends. By the fourth day of Tet, he flies to Ho Chi Minh City to start a new year of work.
2024 marks an exciting journey for SOOBIN with the program Brother Overcome Thousand Obstacles. In 2025, he promises to bring more projects and hopes for continued support from his fans.
Artist Thanh Thanh Hien: Celebrating Tet Online with Her Children
Singer Hoang Thai Phuong, the youngest daughter of Artist Thanh Thanh Hien, shared that this year’s Tet, the family celebrated New Year’s Eve via FaceTime due to everyone being in different places. Her mother was performing in a distant province, her sister was studying in the U.S., and she was in Hanoi.

Hoang Thai Phuong revealed that her mother, though easy-going, is highly sensitive. A song that resonates with her emotions can make her cry for three days. Despite the distance, the family remains close through video calls and heartfelt messages.
With her role as Thi No in the musical The Dream of Mr. Phéo, Hoang Thai Phuong made a strong impression and received more performance invitations. “Mom doesn’t say much, but I’m sure she’s very happy,” she shared.
