Vietnamese Model Huynh Tu Anh: Post-Chanel Rise to Global Demand

Mẫu Việt Huỳnh Tú Anh được các nhà mốt quốc tế săn đón sau show Chanel

During the first two nights of Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) Autumn-Winter 2025, model Huynh Tu Anh (born 2002, Binh Duong, 1.78m tall) made a strong impression by consistently appearing as the first face (opener) and vedette (closer) on the runways of international fashion houses from Singapore, Cambodia, and Laos.

Huynh Tu Anh is currently the first Vietnamese model to walk in an official Chanel show, an event that took place on November 4th. This significant milestone has garnered her attention from industry professionals.

In the international fashion scene, Chanel is regarded as a prestigious “guarantee,” where casting standards are among the most rigorous. Models who successfully pass the brand’s casting calls are often highly esteemed and readily catch the eye of many other major fashion houses.

Therefore, Tu Anh’s continuous assignment to the first face and vedette positions at Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) Autumn-Winter 2025 is a testament to her talent, professional attitude, and increasingly captivating demeanor.

One of the most striking moments of the opening night belonged to her appearance in the “Nocturne Éternelle” collection by Singaporean designer Frederick Lee, immediately becoming the center of attention upon stepping onto the runway.

As the vedette, Huynh Tu Anh appeared powerfully, embodying the image of a “queen of the night.”

The custom-made outfit for her featured meticulously sculpted 3D forms, highlighted by thorny branch-like details embracing her body’s curves. Drawing inspiration from the black hues of raven wings, the reflections of snake scales, and the delicate nature of black lace, the designer created a fashion space deeply imbued with mystery.

The metallic effects, multi-layered structure, and Tu Anh’s cool demeanor made every catwalk step captivating. This combination allowed her to truly steal the spotlight and leave a strong impression on the opening night.

On the second night, Huynh Tu Anh continued to assert her appeal by taking on the first face position for the collection of Cambodian fashion house Natacha Van.

In stark contrast to the ethereal “queen of the night” image from the opening night, she graced the catwalk with a gentle, sophisticated look, transforming into a modern princess in a flared, powder pink dress.

The design was meticulously adorned with ruffled details, creating a voluminous, graceful effect with every step, while subtly showcasing her alluring bare shoulders.

Her light makeup further accentuated Tu Anh’s delicate features, with natural flowing hair combined with a graceful, elegant walk.

This appearance once again demonstrated her versatile style; from ethereal to romantic, from strong to feminine, Huynh Tu Anh can master every look, transforming flexibly on the same runway.

Immediately after, in the “Men Folder” collection by Laotian designer Bandid Lasavong, Huynh Tu Anh appeared with a completely different image.

In contrast to the “queen of the night” or fairy tale princess images from before, she presented a fashionable and personal style, creating an impressive transition on the same runway.

Notably, she was the only female model to appear in a menswear collection, demonstrating the designer’s special trust in her.

Tu Anh impressed with a white vest and tie paired with striped shorts, creating a youthful yet sharp look. Her bold unisex style allowed her to showcase flexibility and adaptability, delivering an opening that was both powerful and fashionable.

Being chosen by international fashion houses like Frederick Lee, Natacha Van, and Bandid Lasavong for first face and vedette positions highlights the growing appeal of The Face Vietnam 2023 winner.

Sharing with Dân trí reporters, Huynh Tu Anh revealed valuable experiences working with international fashion houses.

She stated that her training and diet regimen for preparing for a fashion show is very strict: In the 7 days prior, she only consumed eggs, vegetables, and chicken breast, with the possibility of adding oats, while eliminating starches, sugar, milk, and fats.

Two days before the show, her water intake was reduced to 1 liter per day, and on the day of the show, she completely abstained from water. Combined with gym workouts 3-4 times a week, Tu Anh maintains a professional model physique.

Regarding the differences between the international and Vietnamese markets, she revealed: “Abroad, the pace and selection process for models are extremely fast. For example, in France, I only had 5 seconds to audition in front of the judges. If they didn’t announce the results immediately as I turned away, the chance of being selected decreased by about 70%.”

She also emphasized that height is not the sole determining factor for success. The international market pays more attention to hip frame and focuses on facial expressions to convey a model’s aura.

According to Tu Anh, these two factors are more important than height, helping models stand out and suit various types of clothing.
