Vietnamese Prime Minister Announces 2025 Provincial Inspections

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính chaired a meeting to announce the 2025 inspection decisions for the Party Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, Bình Dương Province, and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province. The meeting took place in Ho Chi Minh City, attended by Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Nguyễn Văn Nên, Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc, and leaders from central government ministries and local authorities.

Focus Areas of the Inspection

At the meeting, the inspection team, led by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, announced the Politburo and Secretariat’s inspection decision. The inspection aims to assess and summarize Resolution 18 of the Central Committee of the Party regarding continued political system reforms, as well as Conclusion 121 on the summary of Resolution 18. Furthermore, the implementation of Directive 35 of the Politburo on the Party Congresses at all levels is also under review. Other key areas include: Conclusion 118 on amending Directive 35; Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; and Conclusion 123 on the supplementary plan for socio-economic development in 2025, with a growth target of 8% or higher.

Requirements for the Inspectee Provinces

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính emphasized that the inspection process must be democratic, objective, honest, rigorous, effective, and practical, avoiding formality. The inspectee provinces must adhere to the Party’s 5 leadership methods and 5 leadership principles, along with the Party’s regulations and the Politburo and Secretariat’s inspection procedures.

Furthermore, the provinces are required to demonstrate a strong sense of self-criticism and criticism, promptly conduct self-inspections, and submit comprehensive reports as requested by the inspection team; closely cooperate, facilitate, and provide all necessary documents and materials in a timely manner throughout the inspection. The Prime Minister also requested the provinces to proactively schedule suitable working hours to enable the inspection team to complete its mission effectively.

Evaluation of Achievements and Challenges

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính praised the significant achievements of Ho Chi Minh City, Bình Dương Province, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, and the Eastern Southern region, while also highlighting existing challenges and difficulties in implementing new policies. The Prime Minister stressed the need to prevent corruption, negativity, waste, and continue to foster unity and cohesion to build a dynamic and innovative cadre team that meets the requirements.

Addressing Obstacles and Overcoming Difficulties

The Prime Minister emphasized that implementing major policies will inevitably encounter obstacles. Therefore, it is necessary to learn from experience while implementing these policies, gradually expanding the scope without being overly ambitious or hasty, ensuring a continuous flow of development, and inheriting and leveraging the Party’s guidelines. The Prime Minister also mentioned streamlining intermediate steps, restructuring the development space, effectively managing development while still fostering growth, and reducing administrative procedures for citizens and businesses to gain their support and approval.
