At the final round of the Asian Women’s Futsal Championship 2025 qualifiers, the Vietnamese women’s futsal team drew 2-2 with Chinese Taipei. This result secured them first place in Group D with 7 points from 3 matches and officially qualified for the championship finals.
List of 12 Teams Qualified for the 2025 Asian Women’s Futsal Championship
Joining Vietnam, other teams that qualified through the qualifiers include Thailand, Bahrain, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong (China). Three teams automatically qualified without needing to participate in the qualifiers: China (host country), Japan (current runner-up), and Iran (current champion).
Seed Groups Based on FIFA Rankings
The 12 participating teams will be divided into 4 seed groups, each containing 3 teams, based on their FIFA rankings. The Vietnamese women’s futsal team is expected to be in Seed Group 2 along with Japan and Uzbekistan. Currently, the team coached by Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng ranks 11th in the world.

Being placed in Seed Group 2 provides significant advantages for the Vietnamese women’s futsal team before the draw. This increases their chances of progressing further in the tournament, aiming towards qualification for the 2025 Futsal World Cup.
Details About the Tournament
The 2025 Asian Women’s Futsal Championship finals will take place in May 2025 in China. The 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups, each containing 4 teams. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
This tournament also serves as the qualifier for the 2025 Futsal World Cup. Apart from the Philippines (World Cup host), the top three teams will secure spots in the global tournament.
Achievements of the Vietnamese Women’s Futsal Team
The highest achievement of the Vietnamese women’s futsal team at the continental level was finishing fourth at the 2018 tournament. To qualify for the World Cup, Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng and his team must make extraordinary efforts in the upcoming tournament.
