A section of a railing at Vinh University’s teacher training college collapsed on April 14th, injuring three female ninth-grade students.
The university reported the incident to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Nghệ An Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Committee, the Provincial Police, and the Provincial Department of Education.
According to the report, at approximately 9:30 AM, a portion of the fourth-floor railing at Building A6, near the primary, middle, and high school practical teaching area, collapsed onto the schoolyard. The falling railing struck three students from class 9B who were standing below.

The injured students are N.P.G.T., N.N.H.Tr., and V.K.Q.. The school immediately took the injured students to the hospital for treatment.
Q. is currently being monitored for head injuries at the Nghệ An Friendship Multi-specialty Hospital. The other two students are receiving treatment at the Vinh City Multi-specialty Hospital for less severe injuries.
Doctors report that Q.’s skull is fractured, and the bone fragment pierced her brain’s blood vessels, causing significant damage.
Tr. is receiving intensive care at the Vinh City Multi-specialty Hospital for significant blood loss, shock, and a nearly 10-centimeter open wound to the head.
University and school administrators were at the scene immediately after the incident, coordinating with authorities to determine the cause of the accident.

Mr. N.S., a relative of Tr., recounts that he received a call at approximately 9:45 AM while at Vinh Market. He learned that his niece had been in an accident at school, along with two other students. All three were taken for emergency treatment at the hospital.
“My niece sustained a head wound requiring 13 stitches. Teachers have been with her and the family, helping her cope with the situation,” said Mr. S.
Ms. N.Đ., Tr.’s mother, who is working in Laos, stated, “Upon hearing of the accident, I was completely distraught and couldn’t believe what I had heard. Being away from her, I could only cry. Thankfully, she has family at home – her brother, grandmother, and siblings – to care for her.”
Ms. Đ. shared that though she wishes to be with her daughter, due to her employment situation, she can only pray for her daughter’s quick recovery and for the family, school, and medical team to provide the best possible care.
