VITW 2025: Boosting Vietnam’s Industry & Tech Connections

The establishment of VEC provides Vietnam with a new platform to foster business connections, ignite innovation, and gradually affirm its position on the international exhibition industry map.

From Infrastructure Challenges to Development Opportunities

“This is the first time the Vietnam Door Association has been able to organize a truly specialized exhibition,” shared Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Vietnam Door Association, regarding his participation in VITW 2025 at VEC.

The Door Association gathers hundreds of businesses. However, for many years, these businesses have been confined to small-scale product displays and introductions.

“The unique nature of the door industry requires simulating actual constructions to showcase products, but previous exhibition infrastructure never met that need. Businesses wanting to make large investments had no opportunity,” Mr. Dung explained.

Looking abroad, Mr. Dung expressed his sadness that other countries could organize large-scale exhibitions. He referred to the exhibition infrastructure gap over decades as a “pain” that stifled businesses’ grand aspirations. An exhibition space with about 80,000m2 of display area, like the event organized by VEC this time, was unprecedented for participating businesses.

Mr. Dung stated, “VEC’s birth has both resolved a ‘pain’ that lasted for decades and ignited pride as Vietnam can now host international-standard specialized exhibitions.”

For VietBuild, Vietnam’s leading construction and material exhibition brand, VITW 2025 at VEC is also a memorable milestone.

After more than 20 years in the exhibition industry, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Chairman of VietBuild, still pondered the need to “split” the industry’s major event into several sessions throughout the year, due to the lack of a venue large enough to accommodate thousands of booths across multiple sectors.

According to Mr. Hung, with VEC, exhibitors can confidently display their products in a world-class space, professionally operated, with a complete ecosystem of services and utilities. Here, businesses not only introduce products but also have opportunities to connect and expand cooperation domestically and internationally.

“This has been a long-held dream for VietBuild that only VEC could realize,” Mr. Hung shared.

Not only a launching pad for domestic businesses, VITW 2025 also demonstrates VEC’s international connectivity capabilities by attracting CMES – an international exhibition brand that brings together original equipment manufacturers in the global machine tool and smart manufacturing industry – to choose VITW 2025 as its first stop outside China.

“For our first international venture, CMES chose VEC because we see it as a modern exhibition complex with international standard operational capabilities, arguably leading in Southeast Asia, and a rapidly transforming economy. We will definitely return,” affirmed Mr. Wang Guoping, Chairman of Huamo Group – the organizer of CMES.

A Major Boost for Vietnam’s Industry & Technology

Drawing from China’s experience – a nation that has risen to become the “world’s factory” thanks to its manufacturing industry and developed exhibition system – Mr. Wang believes Vietnam has a great opportunity.

“With bold development goals, Vietnam needs to access modern industrial technologies and machinery from around the world. Events like VITW 2025 organized by VEC are the trade platforms that make this a reality,” the CMES organizer confidently stated.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung observed that the participation of nearly 750 booths from hundreds of domestic and international businesses at VITW 2025 has recreated a vibrant picture of the Vietnamese economy.

This positive atmosphere will strengthen businesses’ confidence in the nation’s ascent. When businesses have confidence and motivation, synergistic development will spread across all sectors, boosting the entire economy.

“This is not just a place to display products, but a place to create opportunities and nurture development aspirations,” Mr. Dung added.

Mr. Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association, emphasized that the exhibition industry plays a strategic role in the country’s industrialization and modernization process.

A strong industry cannot exist without a strong exhibition sector. In any country, prestigious exhibitions attract leading manufacturers and innovators. From here, the spirit of creativity and innovation will spread widely, both within businesses and among regulatory agencies, research institutes, and universities.

Also, according to former Minister Nguyen Quan, the establishment of VEC and events like VITW 2025 have created a “convergence point” that helps Vietnamese businesses access international technology, partners, and markets right on their home ground.

This is particularly significant as Vietnam is accelerating the development of high-tech industries – from semiconductors, robotics, to high-speed rail and nuclear power.

“At VITW 2025, many foreign businesses brought technologies that Vietnam needs to access and master for its key industries. This is a great opportunity for Vietnam not only to learn and develop its industrial and technological base but also to gradually participate in the global production chain,” the former Minister of Science and Technology emphasized.
