The Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2025 is approaching, bringing joy and exciting activities across the country. With favorable weather and entertaining programs, people nationwide are eagerly welcoming the new year with excitement.

Festive Spirit Spreads in Hanoi

Hanoi, the heart of the nation, shines brighter than ever as it prepares to welcome the new year. According to plans, the city will host fireworks displays at 30 locations (31 sites) from midnight on January 29 (New Year’s Day) until 00:15 AM. Among these, nine high-altitude sites combined with low-altitude ones (10 sites) and 21 low-altitude sites in 30 districts, counties, and towns.

On the evening of the 29th day of the last lunar month, thousands of people gathered around Hoan Kiem Lake to enjoy the New Year’s Eve atmosphere and watch the dazzling fireworks display. Despite temperatures ranging from 12-20°C, dry weather without rain created ideal conditions for people to play and celebrate the new year.

Ho Chi Minh City Sets a Record for Firework Sites

Ho Chi Minh City also joins the festivities with a record-breaking 15 firework sites, including two high-altitude sites and 13 low-altitude sites. Notably, at the Saigon River Tunnel Park, approximately 1,500 high-altitude fireworks and 30 low-altitude stands have been set up to serve the moment of the New Year.

Soldiers from the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the People’s Militia actively assisted in setting up the fireworks, ensuring everything runs safely and according to schedule. This area has the most firework stands among the city’s 15 launch points.

Not only Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but other provinces and cities nationwide also organize fireworks and cultural performances to meet the public’s festive needs. These activities not only contribute to the lively Tet atmosphere but also demonstrate the government’s concern for the spiritual life of its citizens.
