On May 6th, the Dak Lak Department of Construction received a request from a citizen to retrieve footage from the bus’s dashcam to locate a lost handbag containing over 90 million VND.

Ms. T.T.T.D. (24), residing in Dak Mil District, Dak Nong Province, explained that on March 31st, she took the A.H.H. bus to take her child to a hospital in Ben Cat City, Binh Duong Province. In a rush, she didn’t have time to transfer the money to her bank account and carried over 90 million VND in cash in her handbag.

When the bus arrived at the Hoa Loi intersection in Ben Cat City, Ms. D. got off and forgot her handbag, containing personal documents and the large sum of money.

After discovering her loss, Ms. D. contacted the bus company for assistance. However, when it was confirmed that the bag was missing and no one had claimed it, she requested the retrieval of the dashcam footage to investigate.

Ms. D. submitted a request to the Dak Lak Department of Construction to retrieve the bus’s dashcam footage. The footage showed the bus helper, named Mr. Đ, taking the handbag. Ms. D. asked Mr. Đ to return the money. However, he has only returned 50 million VND and promised to return the rest by April 18th, which has not yet happened.

Ms. D.’s family posted the entire incident, including the footage, on social media, sparking public outrage. Many believe Mr. Đ’s actions violated the law and should be severely punished.

Mr. N.T.P., the branch manager of A.H.H. Transportation Company, confirmed that they had assisted the customer immediately after receiving the notification.

The company worked with the customer at the Binh Duong provincial police station, but they were unable to identify who took the handbag. After reviewing the footage, the bus helper, Mr. Đ, admitted to taking the bag.

Mr. P. stated that Mr. Đ had worked for the company several years ago and had recently returned. If Mr. Đ does not return the remaining money, the customer and the company will report the case to the police for further legal action.
